Proposition 37 in California calls for mandatory labeling of GMO foods and those in favor of it are arguing that it should pass because “we have a right to know.” However, there is one big problem with that argument: there is no such thing as a “right to know.” This bill forces manufacturers to label their foods in ways they do not agree with, and there is no such thing as a “right” to violate another’s rights.
